The T in STEM

On the farm the T in STEM refers to the numerous tools we use. How can you travel from one rock to another? How can you move dirt? How can you make a hole in wood? How can you collect eggs? How can you move water?

Students at school on the farm learn and explore a variety of STEM based concepts. It is easy to describe how we learn science, engineering, and mathematics. Technology is often thought to be related to items that involve screens. Children today spend a great amount of time using technology, but these tools are limiting. The use of actual tools such as rakes, shovels, wood, wheelbarrows, drills, mallets, and more encourage children to use all of their senses and support all learning styles.
